Overview

Kejun Zhang is a Professor at the College of Computer Science and Technology, Zhejiang University, where he drives innovation at the confluence of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Affective Computing, and Embodied Interaction for cutting-edge design applications. As Vice Dean of the International Design Research Institute, he plays a critical leadership role in the university's academic and strategic initiatives, includes the "One-Stop" service platform and AI-driven seal engraving systems, technologies that were instrumental in enhancing the operational efficiency and digital user experience of the Hangzhou Asian Games. He has published nearly 100 papers in leading IEEE/ACM journals and top-tier international conferences, establishing his significant influence in AI and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and won the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) SAIL Award. Professor Zhang is deeply committed to nurturing the next generation of talent, passionately mentoring students to undertake projects that are "interesting, challenging, and valuable." Students under his guidance consistently achieve outstanding recognition in both national and international competitions, such as the "Internet+" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and the "Challenging Cup," as well as top international design honors, including the Red Dot Award and the iF Design Award. His dedication extends to educational reform, where he has pioneered the development of several nationally recognized first-class courses. This commitment to teaching excellence has been widely acknowledged, earning him the First Prize in the 2024 National Teaching Innovation Contest for College Teachers and the 2024 Global MOOC and Online Education Alliance Award.
